Well, not THAT cold. I was on the verandah with a cup of hot chocolate made of half and half, with finely ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, topped with whipped cream for a while in just a pair o' shorts. I went in, took a hotter than Hell shower, and now was sittin' in front of the Mac, dressed rather warm, in two layers of clothes. We had the heaters on in the bedroom, the livin' room, and the kitchen. The one in this little office would come on after the other two got up and had their brekkie. The food supply was runnin' low, and they could make due with what was there that looked good to them. I was skippin' it this mornin'. We wouldn't be eatin' again until the mid-afternoon, but that was OK. I'd survive. I wasn't runnin' today. I put in 15 kilometres yesterday, so. . .
We'd go to town shortly. We'd be hangin' in the parks a bit. Maybe we'd stop in a café and have a latte, go to the hotel, snuggle in front o' the fireplace whilst talkin' about the state of the world, and of course two of us would be doin' updates on world affairs on the lap top.
Will the Bay Area explode over Scott Olson? Who knows, huh? Well again, the one who did know wasn't tellin', so. . . What was to happen on November 2? Would the Oakland shutdown be a success? Thing is, that was just one day. And how many would play?
Time seemed at a standstill to me again. So many things on the verge o' goin' ballistic, but not quite yet. Waitin', waitin', waitin'. . .
For another 18 days, includin' this one. Here I go again. That was less than 3 weeks, though. 3 weeks of sheer hedonism, and few obligations. Only one more house cleanin' for me.
The town was nice this time of year. It went rather dead after 9:00 PM, and didn't wake up until some time around 7:00. It was quite lively until the wee hours durin' the warmer times o' the year, but now it was quite peaceful, from a statistical perspective. The hotel was half empty, and though not good for business, it was good for us. When we were in our suite with the back door closed, it was nicely quiet. We might as well have been home. All the rooms had double paned glass, and that helped.
I hear the others are up. Think I'll have a cup o' tay with them.
